Thanks for sending me the share last night, Galligher.
He and I had a chance to chit-chat for a bit. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of good work going on! Looking forward to watching the business develop!
So is CHI buying up the remaining shares today, or are you extending the deadline? --------------------

In our chat he did say the first dividend would be coming Jan 1st, but yeah I'd like to see him post here to clear up if this IPO is closed or not? CHI was to buy the remaining shares as of 12/10 I thought. --------------------

Same here, no dividend. Not ready to throw in the towel, but not really inspiring either. --------------------

I just opened a convo with Galligher. I asked him where the dividends were. People were getting worried. He then closed the convo. So yeah I'd say this is a scam. --------------------

Originally by: MilowFV An audit is no guarantee that someone isn't going to scam. All it does is verify some basic facts about the plan and the skill set the person owns. Its easy enough to have the required skills and have lead a non scamming past in Eve and then decided to cash in on that fact in the market.
Yeah I think this is where the size of the request would act as the red flag. If it's 15bil the first time someone asks, then there's a lot of scam risk right there, even if the person's past and skills are legit and spot free. --------------------

So as a lesson learned (myself included), never give more than a bil to an MD newb. This guy is now set for pretty much life really. Just re-invest the 15bil, and live off the dividends. Even in an EBANK account, 15bil is 225mil per month at 1.5% interest. |

Even though I lost 100mil on this, that image did make me laugh. lol |

This is probably the easiest way to make ISK in the game. I'm actually surprised we don't see it even more often. People spend 10x the effort in suicide ganks. And this is actually a lot less work, and really easy to pull off. Also there's no real way to get revenge. Podding a guy a few times is never going to do 15 billion in damage (also with no risks of your own, since a scam has no risks for the scammer really).
I wish there was a way to get financial revenge on people in this game, or some other way to do 15 billion dollars of damage in some other equivalent way. |

Originally by: Kw1jybo As someone who got scammed in this, and as this was my 1st attempt to invest, I kinda have a sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing.
I have to say, is there any compelling reason to invest if the risk of scamming is so high?
Well investing only in people who are known is much less risky. If they're brand new to public ventures, then look at how much their asking for. Scamming for like a bil is really not worth it; but 15 bil?
*edit*
Originally by: Midas Man My own personal take is that alot of the people investing are playing the investment market of more of a game than a way to get richer and will have numerous other ventures supplying their wealth.
Also a lot of people are more concerned for the overall health of the secondary market and will happily take the hits of the regular scams to keep the market alive and active.
I agree half of it is really just for fun. |

I'm curious to know who this guy is in real life. I've got some stereotypes I figure he fits, but would be curious to know if they match up. And no, I can't take his word to answer the questions without lying. lol
Anyway, this kind of thing makes me curious. What kind of person would scam, that is. --------------------
